Sunday, July 22nd at War Vets Park in Olean restaurateurs and artists come together for the annual food and art lovers event, Taste of Olean / Art in the Park. From 11am to 5pm you can stroll the Taste booths, grazing on a little of this and a taste of that, and at Art in the Park see your favorite artists, meet new ones and discover beautiful pieces to take home with you.
Art in the Park, Olean’s original outdoor art show and sale, celebrates its 69th anniversary this year, and the Tri-County Arts Council is once again pleased to be the producer of this historic event. Art in the Park is a one-day juried outdoor art exhibition and sale dedicated to excellence in the visual arts as well as enhancing and promoting the visual arts and the talented artists in the region. This outdoor event attracts over 6,000 people with a complementary audience capture thanks to Art in the Park and Taste of Olean occurring simultaneously. Art in the Park provides visitors a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with regional artists, and the wide variety of price points make it possible for everyone to go home with a treasure.
A Chalk Art Contest will be held at the basketball court in the park starting at 10am. At 3pm the chalk art will be judged. However if it rains in the morning, the contest will be cancelled, and announced on the Arts Council’s facebook page.
Taste of Olean is presented by the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce (GOACC). Restaurant vendors interested in participating at the event should contact GOACC at 716-372-4433 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
