Toni Kelly- Naturally Inspired- I am constantly inspired by nature’s beauty, texture, and patterns. I nearly always have my camera ready to capture the fleeting moments of birds, butterflies, or the sheer beauty of wildflowers and the light of the landscape. It is from these digital reference photos that I combine to make a composition that tells a story. Most of my bird, wildlife, landscape, and still life paintings are representational with soft backgrounds, and layers of color that merge soft and hard edges as I try to capture a sense of inner peace and calm for the viewer. Mixed media pieces incorporate layers of color and text to create an imaginative story for the viewer to interpret.
