Morgan Huang & Friends Concert

Morgan Huang & Friends – Solo Tenor and Collaborative Concert, accompany by Laurel Buckwalter, Daisy Wu, Christine Perrotta Ziese and University Chorus as the guests artists.

Morgan(Mingren) Huang is a young musician and a Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at Alfred University. He is good at singing and playing the piano, Dan Bou (one string zither). He has visited the United States, Bulgaria, and other countries for academic exchange and performances.

The program includes art songs and folk songs from China, US and Germany.
“Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal” by Roger Quilter and “Three Wishes of Rose ” by Zi Huang
as a beautiful poem, classic German song “Ständchen” by Schubert, ancient Chinese song “Song of Chile,” Guzheng and Piano play “Lin’an Regret”. The first part of the program closes with “The Wind Blows Across the Bridge” and “The Wind Blowing Clouds Floating” are Chinese folk song.
The second part of the program opens with “Ap Jie Lop” is a folk song of Sichuan province and “Comfort Ye My People ” from Handel’s Messiah and “Beautiful Aaziguri” is Xinjiang province’s song of China. Mingren and Christine sing The Oscar for Best Original Song “Shallow.” Christine solo the Chinese song “ Nine Girl.”
And the concert closes with tow Chinese Choral song “On the Side of the Water” and “Jasmine Flower.”

Refreshment will be provided after the concert at Miller Theater lobby.
