Timothy Frerichs will be exhibiting a group of artist books that use a variety of historical bindings for the bookforms at the Patterson Library, Westfield, NY. Bookforms included are Chinese Butterfly, Chinese stab-binding, Early single-quire, Carolingian, Coptic, Byzantine, Limp-Vellum, etc. Frerichs’ artist books have been exhibited internationally and are included in several major collections. There will be a mix of content-focused artist books and blank historical binding examples.
The exhibit will run August 7th through the beginning of September and coincides with papermaking and bookbinding workshop offered August 8th and 10th.
