Explorations in Acrylic Painting

Do you appreciate art, but think you’re not talented? Do you have the desire to create, but feel intimidated? Or, are you a practicing artist who wants to try new paths? Now… here is your chance to develop your natural abilities. This is a non-threatening painting course for those who feel that they want to express themselves, and for those experienced artists who want to increase their own creative and intuitive skills.

This class will give a different perspective on learning to paint. You will learn how to “play” with the acrylics to bring out your natural instincts and desires of self-expression and learn how to expose different moods and excitement in your work. You will also learn the basics in understanding the use of color, design, value and brush-work to create more inspiring compositions.
No art experience required, but those experienced are encouraged to participate.

This class, taught by Joan Pingitore, will meet in six 2 hour sessions. Classes will take place on Tuesdays, March 21, 28, 4, 12 (Wed), & 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The final class will meet on Wednesday, April 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Students will be required to pay a one time $25 materials fee. This class is open to ages 14 and up. Space is limited. Please call the library at 585-968-1668 to register.
