Friends of Good Music in association with the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at St. Bonaventure University present baritone Kenneth Overton with pianist Dr. Gregory Thompson.
Kenneth Overton’s featured role on the 2021 Grammy Award-winning CD “The Passion Of Yeshua” with the Buffalo Philharmonic is among the most recent outstanding achievements of his international career.
This evening’s program, “Been in De Storm so Long,” represents a spiritual journey from the cotton fields to the concert hall. Overton sings spirituals rooted in the African-American traditions including “Deep River,” “Ride on King Jesus,” “I Got to Lie Down,” and many others.
This will make for a moving and jubilant opening for the return of Friends of Good Music’s performance season.
