New Artists, Ages 4-7
ArtVenture | 9-10am
Designed for budding artists, this week kids will get creative and experience art from different cultures, different techniques, and have a blast doing it! Kids will learn about pointillism while doing an aboriginal style painting. They will delve into Eastern Art in a Japanese inspired scroll and also try their hand at a wampum style beaded bracelet from Native American culture. A stick woven ornament and a scientific entomological print round out the week.

Young Artists, Ages 7-11
ArtVenture |10:30am-12pm
Designed for older artists, this week of classes will give the kids a little more history and theory mixed in with engaging projects! Kids will study and paint their African style mask with a special visit from Mr. Micheal Smith who spent time in Europe studying mask making techniques and history. They will also try their hand at a Japanese inspired scroll. Two abstract works created by the artists will be woven back together to make a new piece. Macrame knotting will be used to create a piece of jewelry. The artists will use scrap booking papers to a unique Botanical print of their chosen plant.
