The Wellsville Creative Arts Center will host the first artist in their 2017 artist series beginning January 9th through February 25 in a digital photography show entitled “Endogenous.”
Dylan Staniszewski is an emerging artist based in Northern Virginia. She has been included in a number of exhibitions, including Material Femininity, Line to Ligature, and the Female Gaze at the Turner Gallery at Alfred University, Dancing Images at the Snodgrass Gallery in Alfred New York, and Emerging Visions at the Greater Reston Arts Center in Reston Virginia. In the summer of 2016 Dylan received the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Fellowship to attend the Yale-Norfolk Summer School of Art, a program for art students between their junior and senior year of college. Dylan is currently working towards a BFA from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University, with anticipated completion in the spring of 2017. Alfred’s emphasis on integrating media and an open curriculum has allowed Dylan to explore many different mediums such as sculpture, painting, and drawing while at the same time allowing her to focus on digital media. Through photography Dylan’s work explores the cultural construction of female identity and her relationship to this criterion.
