For the past ten years, the Southern Tier Biennial (STB) has offered an exceptional opportunity to enter a juried art competition and exhibition to artists of the nine counties of New York State’s Southern Tier. The 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013 shows were tremendous successes, with hundreds of artists entering, creating exhibitions that showcased the vitality and diversity of contemporary art in the region. Each biennial is juried by new jurors and therefore, the shows they create are different in tone and scope yet equally true to the definition of “a regional survey of contemporary art.” Accepted works are exhibited at the Olean Public Library Gallery and the Center Gallery at Jamestown Community College in Olean.
