The Seneca language short films will premiere on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at 6:00 PM in the Large Group Instruction Room at the Salamanca High School.
The Tri-County Arts Council of Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Chautauqua Counties, awarded the Allegany Language Department of the Seneca Nation an arts education grant. This grant provides funding for a collaboration between local filmmaker, Caleb Abrams, Salamanca High School Seneca language classes, and the Allegany Language Department, to create short films. Mr. Abrams, a media producer for the Seneca Media & Communications Center, will teach the art of filmmaking to students from Mrs. Rachael Wolfe’s upper level Seneca language classes. Students will decide the content of their videos. The Allegany Language Department of the Seneca Nation will assist students in developing their scripts. This event is open to the public.
