NYSCA DEC Grants Award Ceremony

The Cattaraugus County Arts Council (CCAC) is pleased to announce a public awards ceremony for the NYSCA DEC grants on Wednesday evening, February 22, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Saint Bonaventure Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The Arts Education, Artist in Community, and Community Arts grants for 2017 are funded by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Decentralization (DEC) Program with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by CCAC since 2000.  The dates for DEC grant recipients’ program events will be posted during the coming year on the regional arts and cultural events calendar, events.myartscouncil.net.  

The Recipients for 2017 are:

Arts Education Grants: Mary Kay Worth, Christina Rausa, Renee Pye and Charlotte Yerpe-Stock

Artist in Community Grants: Timothy Frerichs and Trenton Lutes

Community Arts Grants:

Allegany County: Alfred Box of Books, Allegany Art Association, Belfast Public Library, Cuba Circulating Library, David Howe Public Library, Essential Club Free Library, Fountain Arts Center, Town Theatre of Short Tract, Whitesville Public Library, and Wide Awake Club Library.

Cattaraugus County: Chamber Music Society of Olean, Gowanda’s Historic Hollywood Theater, Leon Historical Society, Olean Community Theatre, Olean Theatre Workshop, Southern Tier Symphony, St. Bonaventure University, and Twin Tier Writers.

Chautauqua County: American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation, Cherry Creek Community Association, Ellington Farman Library, Fluvanna Free Library, Fredonia First United Methodist Church, Great Lake FX, Jamestown Concert Association, Lily Dale Assembly, and Patterson Library.
