Stephanie Zwyghuizen is a professor of mathematics at Jamestown Community College, a naturalist, a photographer, and, most recently, a printmaker. Zwyghuizen finds the logic, planning, problem-solving process, and attention to detail required of reduction printing to be a natural fit for her mathematical skills. As she explains, “it is exciting to have an image in my mind and then watch it slowly unfold layer after layer.” A tour of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Jamestown, NY inspired pieces in this exhibition.
