This is a basic introduction into the encaustic medium. Encaustic is an ancient medium which has recently enjoyed a resurgence in the art world. Beeswax and damar resin make up the medium and powdered pigments provide the color. Learn the basic techniques used by current encaustic artists including preparation of the base, layering the colors and fusing.
