Help Us Support the Artists & Craftspeople of Western North Carolina!

Alfred, NY — Alfred University’s School of Art & Design + Scholes Library will host a fundraiser to support artists and craftspeople of Western North Carolina, a region devastated by Hurricane Helene. The region has deep ties to craft traditions that have inspired many within our School of Art & Design and vice versa. This two-day event will take place on October 24-25, on the main floor of Scholes Library.
Event Details:
• Date: Thursday, October 24 – Friday, October 25
• Time: Bidding & ticket raffle begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday and close at 3:00 PM on Friday
• Location: Alfred University, Scholes Library, Main Floor / 272 State St, Alfred, NY 14802
Alfred University has long been connected to the vibrant craft community of Western North Carolina through its faculty, alumni, and students who have found inspiration and collaboration within this rich creative hub. This event provides an opportunity to give back to the region by raising funds for artists & craftspeople who need immediate assistance.
100% of the proceeds will go to the Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF+), an organization committed to serving craft artists through emergency relief and recovery support. To learn more about CERF+ and their important work, visit cerfplus.org.

• Or drop off donated items in The Art Office BMH 147 by noon on October 23.
Attend the event
• Come to Alfred University’s Scholes Library Thursday, October 24th, between 11am and 5pm or Friday, October 25th, between 8:30am and 3pm to bid on an item or purchase tickets for raffle items (Each ticket is $1 or 11 tickets for $10)
• At the close of the auction, Checks should be made out to the Craft Emergency Relief Fund, or proof of a direct online donation to CERF can be presented.
