Artist/Patient/Advocate Exhibit Opening Reception

Artist/Patient/Advocate features artwork by two artists that reveal and transform our way of seeing patients and illness. Since her diagnosis with multiple sclerosis, Elizabeth Jameson has used the brain scans that track her disease as the basis for colorful and luminous images which challenge viewers to see the brain, disability, and illness in new ways. Artist Ted Meyer creates monoprints taken directly from the scarred skin of his subjects. These graphic yet beautiful images tell stories of medical crisis, resilience, and healing.

Opening Reception, at JCC Center Gallery (260 N. Union St., Olean, NY), serving appetizers and beverages is free and open to the public on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 5-7pm, with an artist’s talk by Ted Meyer. The exhibition runs through March 27, 2018.

The Cattaraugus County Arts Council works in collaboration with Jamestown Community College to produce this exhibition series. The Center Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The gallery is closed on weekends and all college holidays.
