Michael Kunzinger will present a talk on his work and abstract photographic process on Tuesday, September 18th at 4:00 p.m. in the Quick Center’s Print Study Room, 2nd Floor of the Museum.
In “Adrift” Michael Kunzinger presents photographs of water, light and color. The three elements isolate and at the same time come together to present the essence of abstraction.
“In my abstract photography, I look for images in reflections that occur on the surface of water. Ripples in the water, combined with the angle of sunlight, distort the ordinary reflection into a surreal design. The resulting photo looks like it is abstract and painted by hand, yet is entirely realist and created by nature. No digital touch ups or oils are used.”
