The David A. Howe Public Library is pleased to present the work of contemporary artist Dave Jeffers.
Dave grew up in Angola NY, a small town near Buffalo. Here he lived a typical small town life. Dave was a shy, quiet boy that loved to draw and paint. It started as a hobby and grew to an obsession. Thirty years and hundreds of pieces of art later he has become a prolific creator. Whatever Dave creates glows with it’s own incredible luminous light. His art is all about creating the world he wants to live in. As a child, Dave came from a place of severe abuse and pain. He used art as a way of escaping and making for himself a perfect world. He has been creating this world for the past 30+ years now with no end in sight. That is a great thing, because it allows others to see this world and enjoy. You will see that no matter the subject matter, it still is stamped with Dave’s signature glow and luminosity. His colors and tones are infectious and full of life. He was denied a whole lot of joy early in life but he is making up for it now. Others say that his works reach out to them somehow. Dave’s wish is that others feel him reaching out and infecting them with joy. In the future he will be turning his attention to a new series called MindFlections. This is all about how random thoughts can greatly influence our behavior. Watch his website at davejeffersartist.com for this incredible series.
Dave’s work will be on display and available for purchase in the Howe Gallery (Exhibition Room) of the David A. Howe Public Library in Wellsville NY starting Tuesday, September 6th through Friday September 30th. There will be a reception, free and open to the public, on Tuesday, September 6th at 7pm in the Howe Gallery.
