Regional artists and artisans will be exhibiting and selling their work at the 68th annual Art in the Park on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. presented by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council (CCAC) at War Vets Park simultaneously with the Taste of Olean, which is sponsored by the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce.

There is something for everyone at Art in the Park/Taste of Olean: visitors can tour the various tent galleries, talk to the artists about their work, and purchase pieces while children play in the bounce houses or on the playground. Get something to eat at Taste of Olean and hear live performances on the stage. Wander through this beautiful park of mature shade trees, eat at the many picnic tables, or in the dining pavilion.

New this year will be “Chalk It Up!” a chalk art contest open to the public. A $5 registration fee on the day of the event will give you a 4 ft. X 4 ft. space on the paved basketball court in War Vets Park to draw your chalk art on. Chalk will be provided, but if you are particular, you might want to bring your own. There will be prizes for Best in Show chalk art in two age categories – ages 10 to 15 and, age 16 and older. Kids up to 10 years of age can draw for free in an open area. This a family-friendly destination to spend the entire day. It’s not too soon to put the date on your calendar and make plans for a tasty, art-filled summer day.
